SHOAC, Vienna Philharmonic continue partnership

The renowned orchestra Vienna Philharmonic from Austria are performing at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center, or SHOAC, on Oct 30 and 31.
Continuing the partnership they initiated in 2016, the Vienna Philharmonic and Shanghai Oriental Art Center signed a new strategic cooperation agreement at the press conference ahead of the concerts.

The orchestra first performed in China in 1973 in Beijing under maestro Claudio Abbado's direction.
In 2007, under Seiji Ozawa's direction, members of the Vienna Philharmonic performed The Marriage of Figaro in Shanghai, marking their debut in the city and offering local music fans a firsthand experience of the orchestra.
The orchestra performed Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 9 in E-flat Major, Op. 70 and Antonín Leopold Dvořák's Symphony No. 7 in D Minor, Op. 70 (B 141) on Oct 30.
The performance at 7:30 pm on Oct 31 will feature Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37 and Richard Strauss' Ein Heldenleben, Op. 40. Visitors can scan the QR code to purchase tickets.
